Metadata should always accompany data. The SOCAT metadata requirements are detailed in the SOCAT cookbook (2024). Please, use this guidance for providing metadata information. SOCAT accepts metadata in any format (OME, pdf, etc). SOCAT encourages data providers to use the online metadata editor to generate the latest metadata format. Other options are available on the main SOCAT submission site, which you can access once you have an account.
